Get RadioButton Value Using jQuery In Asp.Net

5/14/2015 - By Pranav Singh 0

This article will show you how you can get the selected radio button value using jquery in asp.net. In this I have used control type and then detected which the checked radiobutton value using jquery and display in javascript alert box.

So for this article first we will create a new asp.net application and add some radio button on it and give the common grouname so you will be able to select only one radiobutton at a time.

Here is the jquery code.

<script language="javascript">
        function GetValue() {
            var selectedvalue = $("input[type='radio']:checked").val();
            alert(selectedvalue);
        }
    </script>

In above code I have detected the value and display in alert message box. So here is the complete code.

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication2.WebForm1" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
    <title>Get RadioButton Value Using jQuery In Asp.Net</title>
    <script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script language="javascript">
        function GetValue() {
            var selectedvalue = $("input[type='radio']:checked").val();
            alert(selectedvalue);
        }
    </script>
</head>
<body>
    <form id="form1" runat="server">
    <div>
        <asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton1" runat="server" Text="Radio Button 1 " GroupName="val" />
        <asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton2" runat="server" Text="Radio Button 2 " GroupName="val" />
        <br />
        <asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton3" runat="server" Text="Radio Button 3 " GroupName="val" />
        <asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton4" runat="server" Text="Radio Button 4 " GroupName="val" />
    </div>
    <div>
        <br />
        <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Get Value" OnClientClick="javascript:GetValue();" />
    </div>
    </form>
</body>
</html>

Now we have done run the application to check the output.
